Impressive instrumentals from chameleonic Swiss player

And so heaves the collective sigh of disappointment as the Iatest instrumental guitar album lands - the format is just so hackneyed. Thank heavens then for Dominik Rueegg aka Cuthead; his hip bone is
connected to madman Christophe Godin’s humerus from the off, and instead of theusual bare-arsed Vai. Satch, Gilbert and Gambale cloth, Cuthead brings in frenetic Beck-isms, along with a slab of blues-
derived double-stops, complex chords and jazzy bits that traverse lines left by Mike Landau and John Scofield.
The third quarter of the album is rather less compeling, but the drop-jaw workout of Fonk, the shades-of Jimi The Swinging Sink and the twisted jazzy blue Squanky..Ah demand the undivided attention and utmost respect of punters and peers alike.
